RECIPE 01

Everyday Counter Spray

You’ll need

1 cup water; 1 cup white vinegar; 1 tsp unscented dish soap; clean spray bottle.

Make it

Add everything to a spray bottle. Swirl gently to combine.

Use it

Spray onto a cloth, wipe the surface and dry. Rinse food-contact surfaces with clean water.

Great for

Compatible sealed laminate, ceramic tile and stainless steel.

Caution

Spot-test first. Avoid marble, granite and other natural stone. Never mix with bleach or other cleaners. Keep out of reach of children and pets.

RECIPE 02

Dust-Free Blind Cleaner

You’ll need

2 cups warm distilled water; ½ tsp mild, fragrance-free dish soap; 2 soft microfibre cloths.

Make it

Combine water and dish soap. Swirl gently; do not create suds.

Use it

Dust or vacuum first. Dip one cloth and wring it almost dry. Wipe each slat from top to bottom. Dry immediately with the second cloth.

Great for

Sealed wood blinds and intact painted blinds.

Caution

Spot-test first. Never spray blinds directly or soak the wood. Avoid unfinished wood, peeling paint and damaged finishes. Follow the manufacturer’s care instructions.

RECIPE 03

Linen Spray

You’ll need

75 ml distilled water; 20 ml vodka (40% ABV); 5 ml fragrance or essential-oil blend; optional ½ tsp polysorbate 20; clean spray bottle.

Make it

Mix vodka and fragrance. Stir in polysorbate 20, if using. Slowly add water. Bottle and label with scent and date.

Use it

Shake well before each use. Lightly mist compatible fabrics. Make small batches.

Great for

Compatible washable linens.

Caution

Test a hidden area first. Keep away from heat and flames. Do not spray people, pets or pet bedding. Fragrance and essential oils may irritate; avoid exposure around pets. Not a disinfectant.

RECIPE 04

Glass & Mirror Spray

You’ll need

1 cup distilled water; 1 cup 70% isopropyl alcohol; clean spray bottle.

Make it

Add equal parts water and alcohol to the bottle. Gently swirl to combine.

Use it

Lightly mist glass or a clean microfibre cloth. Wipe clean and buff dry.

Great for

Mirrors, windows and uncoated glass.

Caution

Avoid screens, natural stone, acrylic and coated glass. Keep away from heat and flames. Never mix with other cleaners. Keep out of reach of children and pets.

RECIPE 05

Fresh Fridge Wash

You’ll need

2 tbsp baking soda; 4 cups warm water; soft microfibre cloths; mild dish soap for shelves, drawers and bins.

Make it

Stir 2 tbsp baking soda into 4 cups warm water until dissolved.

Use it

1. Remove all food. Keep perishables at 4°C (40°F) or colder while you work. 2. Wipe interior surfaces with the baking-soda solution and a soft microfibre cloth. 3. Hand-wash removable shelves, drawers and bins with mild dish soap and warm water. 4. Rinse with a clean damp cloth. Dry thoroughly before replacing food.

Great for

Compatible fridge interior surfaces.

Caution

Check your appliance manual first. Avoid abrasive tools. Let cold glass shelves reach room temperature before washing to prevent cracking. Cleans; does not sanitize.

RECIPE 06

Gentle Sink Scrub

You’ll need

3 tbsp baking soda; 1 tbsp mild dish soap; a few drops of water, if needed.

Make it

Mix baking soda and dish soap into a soft paste. Add a few drops of water if needed. Make fresh for each use.

Use it

Apply with a damp cloth or non-scratch sponge. Gently clean the sink, rinse well and dry.

Great for

Compatible stainless-steel sinks and ceramic/porcelain sinks.

Caution

Baking soda is mildly abrasive. Spot-test first. Avoid natural stone and specialty finishes. Do not mix with bleach or other cleaning products. Keep out of reach of children and pets.
